Newborn Photographer in New Braunfels, TX

Happy Friday!  It’s been a week full of newborns and I couldn’t be happier.  I specialize in newborn photography and it never gets boring.  Each baby is so different and to learn their cues in just the few hours I am with them is something special.  This guy came in, ate a full feeding then decided to stay awake for the family portion but was very content.  Look at that big ole smile he gave us when wrapped in his momma’s arms <3  Then he fell asleep for the rest of his session.

He was a slightly bigger baby, 9+lbs and is just the cutest especially with all of that hair!  Mom and dad were so full of love for their little guy.  Their birth plan didn’t go as they wanted but they are over the moon to have him here.  I am thankful to be apart of this special time.  These newborn’s are only like this for a few short weeks and to be able to stop time in beautiful photographs for the family makes me so very thankful that you choose me.

Newborn Photography in New Braunfels, TX

January is a wrap and I couldn’t have asked for a better month of newborns.  Each baby came in, did a full feeding and then dosed off for me to work my magic 😉 It was a great month meeting a lot of new people and seeing some familiar faces, like this family.  The dad is my son’s orthodontist and it was a true blessing when I first met his family.  We had been looking for a new orthodontist and had gone to serval local ones and I just wasn’t happy with what we were finding.  Then I met his wife and kids and at our first session together she told me her husband just opened up a new practice.  It was perfect timing and we are very happy that we found him.  He is wonderful with kids and his office is just as great!  If needing this type of service please reach out to him at Kauffman Orthodontics in New Braunfels, TX.

Since that first session we have done several more over the past few years and I was so excited when they told me they were expecting.  I love watching my families grow and welcoming a new baby.  The kids were already so in love with their baby sister and sweet Rory is the perfect addition!

I am now booking due dates into June 2024 so if you would like to get on my calendar please reach out, I’d love to add your baby and family.  That newborn phase only lasts a few weeks, sadly, but it is definitely one you should have documented.  From the little rooster tails on their hair, to their flakey skin, to the way they curl up as if still in the womb, it needs to be photographed because they change too quickly <3

Studio address: 256 Comal Ave New Braunfels 78130 You can park in front of my building (street parking) or in the back behind my building. If you park in the back please make a left turn and park in front of the trash/recycling bins. Please don't block the driveway for the back house. My studio is right next to Alpine Haus's back parking lot. If you park in the back you're welcome to come in through the back door. Attached is my newborn prep guide. These are just simple instructions on what to expect and how to prep baby. Please don't stress if not followed 100% baby is still in that great time frame. I will only recommend that you feed baby at the studio. If baby needs a feeding before heading out that's fine but I like to have the majority of the feeding at the studio so baby is nice and full and ready to sleep. Just a few questions so we are on the same page once you arrive. -I normally do the family portion first. -Are there any certain colors you'd like me to use for styling? I have different shades of whites/creams, yellows, rust, greens, maroon, blues, browns, grays, pinks, purples, and florals...I have a lot of options so if there is something not listed, just ask :) -Are there any poses that you love and would like me to include? I have a routine I go in but if there is something you'd like me to try and get please let me know. -Is there anything you'll be bringing in for me to include with baby? (some clients have brought in baby blankets, a special outfit, a special stuffed animal) no worries if you don't have any of these items. I just want to be prepared before you arrive. -Are we highlighting anything special? If nothing, that's fine, I will plan some cute setups. New Braunfels Texas Maternity Photographer

It’s been a minute since I last blogged.  Business has been growing which is great but it seems like the first of the year starts off a little slower especially after the holiday season.  It’s been an adjustment for me to step back and just be still coming off of 3 months of solid work but it’s been nice.  I am getting caught up around my home with getting things organized.  I also baked my first sourdough loaf with it turning out great my first try, YAY!  A friend of mine gave me some of her starter months ago and I had yet to play around with it.  I stuck it in my fridge so I didn’t have to feed it daily and I was able to bring it back to life and if you know me and my cooking skills, that was a huge accomplishment!!

I shot my first maternity session of 2024 and I couldn’t be happier with the results!  My client knew what location she wanted and she chose her outfits perfectly to match the style.  Also we had 1 day of beautiful weather in between really cold and rainy days so with a schedule change we took advantage of the perfect weather.  Normally in January we have a lot of overcast skies but the night we shot that sun was amazing!

Maternity sessions are really great to book to capture that special time right before baby arrives.  Take advantage of booking one of these.  I promise, you won’t regret it!  Especially if this is your first or last baby it’s definitely such a special time to remember.

I am happy to be back serving yall!  My goal this year is to be more present on my blog and share more of my sessions.

2024 I pray will be a awesome for all small businesses.

New Braunfels Photographer Valentine’s Mini Sessions

 

Valentine’s Mini Sessions are now live for booking.  These will be so fun!  It’s nine different setups in the box.  The box is large enough for small to big kids and multiple people in it so even families can take advantage of these and make some memories and have fun doing with your family.

 

These are my two boys and my niece.  I have to bribe my kids now to be my models and I definitely have a photographer’s child.  I can totally relate to some clients who have those kids with the funny smiles/faces, but they are worth capturing.  My oldest is pretty laid back so he was up for it and my niece is always ready to do pictures <3

Maternity Photography New Braunfels Texas Heidi M Photography

Maternity sessions are keeping me so busy these last few months and I am loving everyone of them!  I enjoy getting to know my clients and these two were great!  They showed up in 2 separate cars and at first I had thought that she was there by herself and wanted these pictures for her but then a few minutes later her husband pulled into a parking spot by us.  It’s funny how first impressions get us.

She started in this soft pink gown since they will be welcoming a baby girl in a few weeks and then she told me her color is black and changed into a black gown for the second half of the session.  I could totally see her more relaxed and comfortable once she put “her” color on.  I think as women we all are that way when it comes to a color or a certain shirt/ jeans.  We all have our favorites.

This location never disappoints.  I go to it quit often since not everyone is in New Braunfels and this is an easy location to meet in the middle sometimes.  Plus it’s always so quiet and I feel like sometimes some clients need the less busier locations to feel comfortable in front of the camera without a lot of people watching.  I can wonder around this spot and find so many different areas, plus the sunsets here are magical and beautiful.

I have a lot of baby’s on the schedule the next few months.  I do have availability though for maternity and a few more newborns to be added.  Plus our busy season with family sessions is approaching and approaching fast!  If you are looking for a maternity photographer please consider reaching out.  I’d love to chat and get you on the schedule.  I also give a discount on my newborn sessions if a maternity shoot is booked with me.  You won’t regret having these pictures done.  Time goes by way too fast and we forgot those details in our pregnancy’s.  Plus it’s your last pictures before your family changes.
